About the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)
The University of Twente Scholarship is a merit-based funding program designed to attract exceptional international students to the university’s Master’s programmes.
The scholarship is awarded to applicants who belong to the top 5–10% of their graduating class and demonstrate the ability to contribute to the university’s international academic community.
Recipients join a network of high-performing students studying in a research-driven environment focused on innovation, technology, and societal impact.
Scholarship Value and Benefits
The University of Twente Scholarship provides financial assistance for study-related costs during a Master’s programme.
Scholarship Amount
Successful applicants can receive:
- €3,000 – €22,000 per year
Unlike some scholarships that are paid directly toward tuition, the UTS funds are paid directly to students, allowing them to decide how to use the money for:

- Living expenses
- Accommodation
- Study materials
However, applicants should note that UTS is not a fully funded scholarship, so students must show they can cover remaining costs.
Funding for Two-Year Master’s Programmes
Students enrolled in two-year Master’s programmes may receive funding for both years.
To receive the scholarship for the second year, students must meet certain academic requirements during the first year.
