- Meet all academic and admission requirements for the selected program
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance and achievements

Due to limited funding, scholarships are highly competitive, and only a small number of students are selected each year.
Selection Process
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic excellence and overall qualifications.
Important points to note:
- Typically, only one or two scholarships are available per Master’s program.
- Some faculties may prioritize specific study programs or applicants from selected countries.
- Successful candidates will receive a scholarship offer together with their admission letter.
- Applicants who are not selected will receive information regarding tuition fees instead.
Because the selection process continues after admission decisions are released, some applicants may receive scholarship offers at a later stage before the final acceptance deadline.
Tuition Fee Waiver Information
Aarhus University offers a limited number of 100% tuition fee waivers to outstanding international students.
If you are not awarded a scholarship immediately after admission, you may still be considered during the ongoing selection process. Applicants selected later will be notified directly through the university’s application system and must respond within the specified deadline.
Students whose admission depends on receiving financial support are advised not to decline their admission offers until the final scholarship selection deadlines have passed.
How to Apply
There is no separate scholarship application required.
When you apply for admission to an eligible Master’s program at Aarhus University, your application will automatically be considered for the Danish State Scholarship.
Applicants do not need to submit additional scholarship documents. Selection is based on the information and supporting materials provided during the admission process.
Please note that scholarships are linked to the specific Master’s program for which admission is granted and cannot be transferred to another degree program.
