Applications are now open for the World Bank GovTech AI Bootcamp 2026, a fully funded five-day program taking place in South Korea from December 7–11, 2026.
The bootcamp is designed for government institutions in low- and middle-income countries that are developing, testing, or implementing AI-powered solutions for governance and public administration.
The program is organized by the World Bank, the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

What Does the Bootcamp Cover?
The GovTech AI Bootcamp is focused on helping governments move beyond AI strategies and explore practical ways to implement AI in the public sector.
Participants will learn from Korean government practitioners and World Bank experts working on AI applications in areas such as:
- Public financial management
- Tax administration
- Citizen services
- Social welfare
- Public administration
- Human resources and civil service management
- Public procurement
- Transparency and anti-corruption
The program will combine practical workshops, technical exercises, site visits, peer learning, and discussions with experts. Participating teams will also work toward developing an AI implementation roadmap for their own government initiative.
Financial Benefits
Selected participants will receive full support for the bootcamp, including:
- International travel expenses
- Accommodation in South Korea
- Participation in the five-day bootcamp
- Official invitation letters to support visa processing
Up to 5–7 countries will be selected. Each selected government institution will nominate two representatives, whose international travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.

Team Requirements
Applications must include a two-person team from the participating government institution:
1. Policy Leader
A senior government official with genuine decision-making authority over the proposed AI initiative.
2. Technical Practitioner
A professional directly involved in designing, developing, or implementing the AI solution.
