The IAPS AI Policy Fellowship 2025 is now open for applications! This fully funded 3-month program is designed for professionals, researchers, and policy enthusiasts from around the world who are passionate about shaping the future of AI governance and ethics.
Hosted in Washington, DC, fellows will begin the program with a mandatory 12-day in-person residency from September 1–12, 2025, followed by the option to complete the remaining fellowship either in-person or remotely. The full program runs from September 1 to November 21, 2025.
Whether you’re a policy thinker, academic, or advocate from any discipline, this is your chance to collaborate with AI experts, tackle real-world AI policy challenges, and produce impactful policy recommendations.

Financial Support
- Senior Fellows: Receive a $22,000 stipend
- Junior Fellows: Receive a $15,000 stipend
All fellows will have travel and accommodation covered during the residency.

- No technical AI background required
- Candidates with legal work rights in the U.S. may choose the full in-person format
- Strong interest or experience in AI policy, tech policy, law, ethics, or public policy preferred
