About COY

The Global Conference of Children & Youth (COY) is the official youth gathering under YOUNGO, the children and youth constituency of the UNFCCC. It serves as a powerful platform for amplifying young voices in shaping international climate policy.

Its mission is to empower youth with the skills, knowledge, and influence to actively engage in global climate negotiations.

COY is built on four key pillars:

Policy Advocacy – Drafting and presenting youth-led climate policy proposals.
Capacity Development – Strengthening understanding of climate governance.
Practical Skills Training – Equipping youth with advocacy and leadership tools.
Cultural Exchange – Promoting solidarity among diverse global participants.

Why COY20 Matters

COY20 is the largest youth climate event connected to the UN climate process. It will prepare young leaders for COP30 and shape the Global Youth Statement on Climate Justice, a document that directly feeds into official UN negotiations.
