The AFRIKA KOMMT! Fellowship offers a unique one-year career and cultural immersion experience designed to strengthen economic cooperation between Africa and Germany. Through practical work placements, management training, and intercultural exchange, the programme equips emerging African leaders with the tools, networks, and global exposure needed to drive sustainable impact in their home countries and beyond.
The programme is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with leading German companies, with support from the German Federal Foreign Office. Since its launch, AFRIKA KOMMT! has built a strong alumni network of African professionals contributing to innovation, sustainable development, and cross-continental partnerships.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the AFRIKA KOMMT! Fellowship, applicants must:

- Hold a completed university degree in a relevant field
- Have several years of professional work experience
- Demonstrate leadership potential and professional excellence
- Show strong motivation and clear career goals
- Possess strong English language skills
- Be willing to engage in intercultural exchange
- Commit to returning to their home country after the fellowship
German language proficiency is not required at the time of application, as selected fellows will undergo intensive German language training.
