Applications are now open for the Bonn Climate Camp Bridge Programme 2026, a fully funded opportunity supporting civil society organizations and grassroots groups to attend the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies (SB64) sessions and the Bonn Climate Camp in Bonn, Germany, from 7–17 June 2026.
The programme aims to ensure stronger representation of Global South and marginalized voices in international climate negotiations by removing financial and logistical barriers to participation.
About the Bonn Climate Camp Bridge Programme
The Bonn Climate Camp is a key civil society space held alongside the official UNFCCC climate negotiations, providing activists, youth groups, and NGOs a platform to organize, collaborate, and advocate for climate justice.
Through the Bridge Programme, selected organizations will receive financial and logistical support to send representatives to Bonn to engage in both official and grassroots climate spaces.
What the Programme Covers
Selected participants will receive full financial support, including:
- Round-trip international travel to Bonn, Germany
- Visa application fee reimbursement
- Health insurance for the duration of the programme
- Daily allowance (per diem) for meals and personal expenses
- Access to Bonn Climate Camp activities and SB64-related spaces
This support is designed to remove the financial barriers that often prevent Global South advocates from participating in international climate discussions.
Who Can Apply
The programme is open to:
- Grassroots initiatives
- Youth movements
- Civil society organizations
- Non-governmental organizations working on climate justice
Eligible groups should:
- Be actively engaged in climate justice or related intersectional issues
- Represent or amplify underrepresented and marginalized communities, particularly from the Global South
Each selected organization may nominate up to two participants to attend the programme.
Why This Opportunity Is Important
The UNFCCC Bonn Climate Conferences play a critical role in shaping global climate policy. However, participation in these meetings is often dominated by well-resourced organizations and governments, leaving many grassroots voices unheard.
The Bonn Climate Camp Bridge Programme seeks to address this imbalance by enabling climate justice advocates—especially from developing regions—to directly participate in discussions, networking, and advocacy at a global level.
Programme Benefits
Participants will gain:
- Direct exposure to international climate negotiations
- Opportunities to collaborate with global climate justice networks
- A platform to share community perspectives and lived experiences
- Training, support, and guidance before and during the event
- An immersive experience within one of the world’s largest climate activism gatherings
Key Dates
- Programme Dates: 7–17 June 2026
- Application Deadline: 31 March 2026 (11:59 PM GMT)
Late applications are unlikely to be considered due to the tight visa and travel processing timelines.
