Important Update for International Candidates
The UK Department for Education has updated the eligibility rules for the International Relocation Payments (IRP) scheme. Trainees starting courses in the 2026–27 academic year will no longer be eligible for IRP funding.
However, this change does not affect eligibility for the British Council Languages Teacher Training Scholarship itself.
International applicants are advised to contact their chosen ITT provider directly to confirm what additional financial support they may qualify for.
