HENNGE Global Internship Program in Japan: Software Engineering Opportunity

The HENNGE Global Internship Program (GIP) offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring software engineers to gain practical experience in a global technology company. The internship takes place at the headquarters of HENNGE in Tokyo, located in the popular district of Shibuya.

This on-site internship is designed for students and early-career developers who want to strengthen their technical skills while working in an international engineering environment. Participants will gain hands-on training, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to real-world software development practices.

The program is conducted entirely in English, so applicants do not need Japanese language skills to participate. This makes the internship accessible to talented candidates from around the world.

Unlike many internships where interns perform routine tasks, the HENNGE Global Internship focuses on structured training, project-based learning, and mentorship to help participants build strong technical foundations.

Program Overview

The internship is a 4–6 week intensive training program where participants collaborate with engineering teams and work on technical projects.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday
10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Japan Standard Time)

Although the internship itself is unpaid, selected participants receive financial and logistical support to help cover their stay in Japan. Outstanding interns may also be considered for future full-time opportunities at the company.

Engineering Pathways

Applicants must select at least one pathway during the application process. Each pathway focuses on specific technical skills.

Interns cannot change their pathway once the program begins.

Full-Stack Engineering Pathway

The Full-Stack Engineering Pathway is ideal for participants interested in building complete software systems that combine both front-end and back-end development.

Interns will:

Develop back-end APIs and front-end interfaces
Work with programming languages such as Python, Go, and TypeScript
Learn key concepts including:
- Application security
- State management across systems
- Testing and debugging
- Cloud-based development workflows
Work in Unix-like environments and modern DevOps tools
