Applications are open for the Tokyo Biennale Social Dive 2025 in Japan — a fully funded international art residency for artists worldwide. Experience Tokyo, engage with local communities, and create meaningful art inspired by everyday life. All travel, accommodation, and project costs covered. Apply by May 2, 2025.
Organized under the theme “Shall We ‘Sanpo’?”, this year’s program encourages artists to explore Tokyo on foot — wandering, discovering, and engaging with the everyday life and rhythms of the city. “Sanpo” means to walk, to drift, and to explore — both physically and creatively.
From alleyways to local markets, artists will dive deep into the social fabric of Tokyo, crafting projects that reflect the spirit, history, and stories of its communities. This is more than just an art program — it’s an invitation to connect art with life. And best of all? All expenses are covered, and no application fee is required.
