The MITACS Globalink Research Internship 2026 application is now open! This prestigious fully funded internship program offers international students the opportunity to spend 12 weeks in Canada conducting research at top universities equipped with world-class facilities.
Running annually from May to October, the Globalink Internship welcomes undergraduate students (including those in combined bachelor’s/master’s programs) from select partner countries. No IELTS is required, and all expenses are covered – making it one of the most accessible and valuable international research opportunities available.

Eligible Countries
Students from the following countries can apply:
Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Each country has a list of eligible universities – check the MITACS official eligibility page to confirm if your institution is included.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Meet the GPA requirement for your country
- Have 1–3 semesters remaining as of Fall 2026
- Hold or be able to obtain a passport valid until January 2027
- Provide:
- A reference letter from a professor
- Updated CV
- Official transcripts (English or French)
- A reference letter from a professor
- Apply to 3–10 projects across at least 3 different Canadian provinces
