The NATO Internship Programme 2026 is now accepting applications! This fully funded internship invites undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent graduates, to work at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
The internship spans six months and is designed to give interns a unique opportunity to understand the inner workings of NATO, contribute to its daily operations, and build valuable skills for international careers. Participants receive a monthly stipend, travel support, and paid leave—making this one of the most competitive and rewarding internships in the world.
Internship Details
- Host Organization: NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)
- Location: NATO Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium
- Duration: 6 Months
- Start Dates: March or September 2026

Financial Coverage
This is a fully funded internship. Selected interns will receive:
- A monthly stipend of €1,286 to cover living costs
- Travel reimbursement of up to €1,200
- 15 days of paid leave for the 6-month internship duration

- Promote understanding and transparency of NATO’s role in global peace and security

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Be a citizen of a NATO member country
- Have completed at least two years of university studies, or be a recent graduate (within one year), or be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program
- Be fluent in English or French
- Have a keen interest in international affairs, security, diplomacy, or NATO’s mission

- A certificate of highest degree (if graduated)
- A proof of enrollment (if still studying)
