NSTC Taiwan International Internship Program 2026 (600 Paid Internships)

Applications are now open for the NSTC Taiwan International Internship Program 2026, a paid international internship in Taiwan for students from around the world. This prestigious internship is funded by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and is designed to attract top global talent to Taiwan’s academic and research ecosystem.

The program is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students from all academic backgrounds, including science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. For the 2026 intake, 600 international interns will be selected.

Internships last between 28 days and 90 days, and participants can begin their internship anytime from June to December 2026. There is no application fee, no age limit, and selected interns will receive a daily stipend of NT$1,000, which is sufficient to cover food, transportation, and accommodation in Taiwan.

Objective of the NSTC Internship Program

The primary goal of the NSTC Taiwan International Internship Program is to bring outstanding international students and early researchers to Taiwan. Through hands-on research experience in Taiwanese universities, laboratories, and research institutions, interns gain exposure to Taiwan’s advanced science and technology environment.

NSTC hopes that this experience will encourage international talent to pursue long-term academic or professional careers in Taiwan, strengthening the country’s global research competitiveness. Many past participants have successfully transitioned into employment or further research opportunities in Taiwan after completing the internship.
