Applications are now open for young Africans passionate about agroecology, organic farming, and sustainable food systems. The YPARD Community Projects Programme offers aspiring changemakers the chance to expand or scale their community initiatives while receiving financial support, mentorship, and international exposure.
This programme is part of the Building Women & Youth-led Network Alliances for Agroecology and Organic Agriculture (BWYNAAO) initiative, powered by YPARD (Young Professionals for Agricultural Development) in collaboration with PELUM Kenya, the African Green Store Network (AGSN), and the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA), with support from GIZ.
The mission: empower youth and women across Africa to lead in sustainable agri-food systems, drive entrepreneurship, and build resilient community networks.
Programme Details
- Duration: September 2025 – June 2026
- Commitment: 16–20 hours per month
- Application Deadline: 30th August 2025
- Support Provided:
- EUR 200 monthly stipend
- Up to EUR 1,000 in direct project funding
- Fully funded travel to attend one major programme event in Africa
- Technical mentorship and access to KCOA’s resource hub
- Networking with like-minded innovators across Africa
- EUR 200 monthly stipend

- Mushroom cultivation projects in Benin
- Organic fertiliser production in Tanzania
- Smallholder farm networks in Eswatini
- Fish farming enterprises in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Eligibility
The call is open to:
- Africans aged 18–35 years
- University students, recent graduates, or young professionals interested in agroecology and organic farming
- Applicants fluent in English or French
- Individuals with access to the internet and basic digital tools
Special consideration will be given to women, Indigenous youth, people with disabilities, rural communities, and others facing systemic barriers.
