Role Overview
Revolut is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer (Java) to join its Technology team. This role comes with a full relocation package and the opportunity to move to Poland, Spain, or the United Arab Emirates.
Once relocated, candidates may work remotely, hybrid, or from Revolut offices in:
- Krakow
- Barcelona
- Madrid
- Dubai
The role focuses on building scalable backend systems that power Revolut’s global financial products.

Revolut emphasizes clean architecture, maintainability, TDD, DDD, and CI/CD, with minimal reliance on heavy external frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build mobile and backend APIs
- Develop and maintain high-performance microservices
- Improve critical systems such as payments, fraud detection, and risk management
- Work on greenfield development as well as enhancing existing systems
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Java
- 6+ years of backend software development experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
- Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Fluent English
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kotlin or Scala
- Background in fintech or financial services
- Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment
- Exposure to product-driven engineering teams
