The University of Birmingham is now accepting applications for the Africa High Fliers Undergraduate Scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. This prestigious opportunity is aimed at exceptional students from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa who are applying for undergraduate programs at the university’s UK campus.

These merit-based scholarships are part of a partnership between the University and its local representatives in the four eligible countries.
Note: This scholarship cannot be combined with any other University of Birmingham awards.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Africa High Fliers Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold an Offer: Receive an offer for a full-time undergraduate program starting in September 2025 and select the University of Birmingham as their firm choice.
- Program Location: Apply for a course based at the University’s UK campus.
- Excluded programs: MBChB Medicine and Surgery, BDS Dental Surgery.
- Law students: Not eligible for this award but may apply for Birmingham Law School scholarships.
- Excluded programs: MBChB Medicine and Surgery, BDS Dental Surgery.
- Residency: Be domiciled (habitually resident) in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, or South Africa.
- Fee Status: Be classified as an overseas fee payer (international student).
- Financial Readiness: Demonstrate the ability to fund the full cost of living in the UK, including accommodation, travel, visa, and personal expenses.
- Start Date Commitment: Must begin studies in September 2025 – deferral is not permitted.
- Representative Registration: Apply through one of the University’s approved local representatives in your home country.

- Accept an offer from the University of Birmingham for an eligible undergraduate course.
- Choose Birmingham as your firm choice in your application.

- Submit your scholarship application through your representative by June 27, 2025.
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to attend an online interview if qualifications are tied.
