The UNESCO World Heritage Centre invites youth and changemakers to participate in the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) 2025 Campaign — a unique international volunteer initiative happening across 41 countries from April to December 2025.
About the Program
Under the theme “World Heritage Volunteers 2025 – Working on the Future,” this global campaign brings together over 89 volunteer-driven projects at 82 iconic locations, including both recognized World Heritage Sites and those on UNESCO’s Tentative List. Organized by 70+ local and international organizations, these projects foster community engagement, heritage preservation, and cultural exchange.
Now in its 18th year, the WHV initiative unites young people, heritage professionals, and local communities in meaningful collaboration. By volunteering, you’ll help safeguard some of the world’s most significant cultural and natural treasures while developing leadership, teamwork, and intercultural skills.
