The French Embassy in Kenya, in collaboration with Rubika Valenciennes, one of Europe’s premier animation schools, has announced a prestigious Excellence Award for a talented Kenyan 3D animation graduate. This scholarship provides full support for a one-year intensive 3D animation program in France, aimed at nurturing top creative talent from Kenya.
About Rubika Valenciennes
Based in northern France, Rubika is a world-renowned institution in animation, design, and video game education. Its alumni have gone on to work at global giants like Pixar, Ubisoft, and DreamWorks. This initiative, in partnership with the French Embassy, reflects a strong commitment to empowering African creatives and strengthening international cultural ties.
Scholarship Details
- Program Duration: September 2025 – June 2026
- Location: Rubika Valenciennes, France
- Field of Study: 3D Animation (Advanced Training Program)
- Target Group: Kenyan graduates passionate about animation
What the Scholarship Covers
- 100% tuition coverage (except a small co-payment of €800 ≈ KES 120,000)
- Visa support and guidance on moving to France

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Academic Background:
- Hold a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent (completed between 2022–2025)
- Preferably in media, animation, fine arts, or film production
- Hold a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent (completed between 2022–2025)
- Animation Skills:
- Proven technical expertise in 3D animation
- Must submit a portfolio/showreel (e.g., modeling, rigging, rendering, motion)

- Available for full program duration in France
- Hold a valid passport (expires after December 2027)
