This is a paid internship opportunity offered by the United Nations University (UNU) at its headquarters in Tokyo. The UNU Junior Fellows Program offers students, recent graduates, and young professionals a unique opportunity to gain practical work experience in an international UN environment. The internship spans six months, running from August 26, 2025, to February 25, 2026.

Financial Benefits
Interns will receive the following support:
- Monthly stipend to help with living expenses
- Transportation reimbursement to/from the UNU HQ in Shibuya, Tokyo
- Free office space and access to UNU’s facilities (library, gym, etc.)
- 1.5 days of paid leave per month
Internship Objectives
The UNU Junior Fellows Program aims to:
- Encourage interaction between young scholars, professionals, and UNU staff
- Provide practical exposure to the workings of a United Nations agency
- Support the work of the Office of the Rector
- Develop administrative, research, and project management skills in an international context
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be of any nationality
- Be under 32 years old
- Be currently pursuing or have completed postgraduate studies (Master’s or PhD)
- Have no more than 5 years of relevant work experience
- Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Have strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and teamwork
- Be proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
