Are you passionate about visual storytelling and climate justice? Photography 4 Humanity is calling on photographers around the world to submit compelling images for the 2025 Global Prize. This year’s theme focuses on climate justice as a human rights issue, spotlighting those most impacted by the climate crisis.
About the 2025 Global Contest
The competition seeks powerful photographs that tell the stories of individuals and communities on the frontlines of climate change — from displaced families and indigenous communities to children, the elderly, low-income populations, island nations, and women.
Photographers are also encouraged to submit images highlighting environmental defenders and everyday people actively engaged in fighting or adapting to the climate crisis.
Prize
- Grand Prize Winner: $5,000 USD
- Winning photo + Top 10 Finalists + 20 Honorable Mentions will be featured on UN.org and across global platforms.
Deadline
Submit your entry by August 5, 2025 (1:00 PM EST). Don’t wait—share your story through the lens and inspire global change.
Eligibility
- Open to photographers 18 years and older
- Open to all countries
- Photos must be taken between August 1, 2024, and August 5, 2025
- Photos must show:
- People affected by climate change, or
- People contributing to climate action, adaptation, or awareness.
- People affected by climate change, or
Each submission must include:
- Photographer’s full name
- Image title
- Date & location of the photo
- A brief description of the image
Selection Criteria
Photos will be judged on:
- Emotional impact
- Storytelling power
- Relevance to climate justice and human rights
