About the Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa
Established in 2017, the Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa aims to strengthen academic exchange and leadership in the region. Each year, three scholarships are awarded to talented students from eligible West African countries. Scholars join a global network of exceptional individuals and have the chance to develop their skills at Oxford while contributing meaningfully to their home communities.
This award is offered in partnership with the Oxford-Morland-West Africa Graduate Scholarship, further promoting collaboration between Oxford and the region.
Eligible Countries
Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Togo

What the Scholarship Covers
The Rhodes Scholarship is fully funded and includes:
- Full tuition and college fees at Oxford
- A monthly living stipend
- One economy-class flight to and from the UK
