Applications are now open for the Institut Français Residency Programme 2026, organized in partnership with the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. This fully funded opportunity invites artists and cultural practitioners from around the world—who have lived outside of France for at least five years—to immerse themselves in a residency designed for creative exploration and research.
Depending on the proposed project, selected artists can stay in Paris for three, six, or nine months, beginning in 2026.

Eligible Fields
The residency embraces all artistic and cultural disciplines, with no restrictions on age or nationality. Eligible fields include:
- Traditional disciplines: Architecture, urbanism, landscape design, visual arts, music, dance, theater, literature, photography, fashion, gastronomy, comics, circus arts, puppetry, performance, art criticism, and curation.
- Contemporary practices: Digital art, gaming, virtual reality, cinema, street art, and more.
This program fosters cross-disciplinary exchange, encouraging both established and emerging artists to develop innovative projects.
Residency Benefits
Selected residents will receive a comprehensive support package, including:
- Accommodation: Fully furnished studio apartments at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, equipped with a workspace, sleeping area, bathroom, kitchenette, and Wi-Fi.
- Monthly Stipend: At least €1,000 per month to cover living expenses.
- Travel Costs: Round-trip international airfare covered.
- Insurance: Comprehensive health, hospitalization, repatriation, and liability insurance.
- Visa Support: Assistance with obtaining the appropriate residency visa.
