Applications are now open for the Giga Accelerator Programme 2025, an initiative under the Giga Technology Centre in Barcelona. This programme is designed to help innovators develop and scale solutions that promote sustainable and inclusive school connectivity. While most sessions are delivered virtually, selected participants will enjoy two fully funded trips to Barcelona, Spain, for in-person collaboration and networking.
About the Giga Accelerator Programme
The Giga Accelerator is part of the global Giga initiative, aimed at connecting every school to the internet. Through this programme, innovators gain tailored support to refine their solutions, test commercial viability, and build partnerships with leading telecom operators, investors, and technology players worldwide.
The programme’s core objectives are to:
- Provide equity-free financial support and mentorship to strengthen product development.
- Ensure solutions are interoperable, sustainable, and commercially viable in real-world settings.
- Build strategic partnerships with high-impact stakeholders in the connectivity ecosystem.

The Accelerator seeks solutions that:
- Expand digital connectivity in areas with limited or no infrastructure.
- Create affordable and scalable business models for internet access.
- Improve connectivity in peri-urban and rural communities.
- Leverage innovative technologies to enhance reliability and deployment.
- Reduce technical and operational barriers for service providers.
Programme Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Equity-free financial support of up to $50,000 USD.
- Tailored mentorship and training from global experts in digital connectivity.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be legally registered in one of the ITU Member States.
- Ensure the organization and its owners have no litigation linked to prohibited practices.
- Demonstrate financial stability with proof of solvency.
- Present a product at Technology Readiness Level 4 or higher (prototype stage and above).
- Commit to open-source principles by adopting or contributing to an open-source model.
- Open to applicants worldwide (all countries).
