Applications are now open for the 10th Cohort of the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (Digitalent) 2025, an initiative by the Government of Kenya implemented through the ICT Authority on behalf of the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy (MICDE).
Launched as part of the National ICT Master Plan, the programme is designed to nurture world-class ICT talent, bridge the gap between industry needs and local skills, and build a highly skilled digital workforce to meet Kenya’s present and future ICT demands. Since inception, over 3,300 graduates have successfully benefitted from this flagship programme.
About the Programme
The Digitalent Programme equips young ICT professionals with practical work experience, mentorship, and specialized training to prepare them for the labor market. Participants are placed in both ICT and non-ICT sectors where they:
- Gain hands-on workplace experience.
- Build professional and technical skills.
- Receive mentorship and career guidance.
- Expand networks within the ICT sector.
Key areas of focus include:
- Network and Digital Infrastructure
- Software Development & Artificial Intelligence
- Cybersecurity & Information Security
- Data Analytics
- Multimedia Design & Digital Marketing
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen aged 21–29 years.
- Hold a First-Class or Upper Second-Class Honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution, completed no earlier than January 2023.
- Recent graduates awaiting graduation (by December 2025) may apply with an official reference letter from their university.
- Degrees in ICT-related fields or Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Software, Systems, Security) are prioritized.
- Applicants must be currently unemployed and should not have participated in any previous government internship.
- Willingness to accept full-time placements across government institutions in all 47 counties (working 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
Special consideration: Women, persons with disabilities, and graduates from arid and semi-arid regions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required documents:
- National ID or valid passport.
- KCSE certificate.
- University degree certificate or official reference letter (for pending graduates).
- Recent passport-sized photo.
Note: Providing false or misleading information is a criminal offense punishable by up to Kshs. 200,000 fine, two years imprisonment, or both. Applications are valid only if successfully submitted within 21 days from the announcement date.
