Applications are officially open for the 2026/2027 cohort of the Obama Foundation Leaders Africa Program — a transformative, fully funded initiative designed to empower, connect, and inspire emerging changemakers across Africa.
Since launching in 2018, the program has grown into a global leadership network, expanding to Asia Pacific (2019), Europe (2020), and the United States (2023). Today, it continues to nurture exceptional young leaders aged 24 to 45, who are actively driving change and building inclusive societies rooted in integrity, collaboration, and shared progress.
About the Program
Inspired by the leadership philosophy of President Barack Obama, the program equips participants with practical tools, mentorship, and values-based leadership frameworks to create lasting social impact.
Through interactive sessions, leadership workshops, and personalized coaching, participants strengthen their leadership capacity, expand their networks, and gain deeper insight into how to address complex social and systemic issues.
Graduates of the program join the Obama Leadership Network — a powerful community of more than 1,500 changemakers worldwide, committed to advancing inclusive growth and social transformation.
