This funding supports scholars throughout the entire one-year MSc programme in London.
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
To be considered for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Nationality & Residency
- Be a national of a Sub-Saharan African country
- Be resident in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Demonstrate a clear intention to return to Africa after completing the MSc
Academic Requirements
- Hold a first degree equivalent to a First Class or Upper Second Class
- Have an offer of admission for the 2026–27 academic year to an eligible, London-based MSc programme at LSHTM
- Show strong potential to contribute to public health practice or health-related research in Africa
Financial Need
- Confirm that you cannot self-fund the proposed MSc programme without scholarship support
English Language Requirement
- Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements by Monday, 15 June 2026
Failure to meet the English language requirement by the deadline may result in the scholarship being withdrawn and offered to a reserve candidate.
