The programme will run during two cycles:
- 1 August 2026 – 31 July 2027
- 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027
This fellowship provides young professionals with practical experience working within the United Nations human rights system, particularly in areas focused on combating slavery and torture worldwide.

Fellowship Responsibilities
Selected fellows will work closely with humanitarian funds that support victims of slavery and torture. Their responsibilities may include:
Grant Management
- Reviewing project proposals
- Responding to technical inquiries from partner organizations
Research & Analysis
- Conducting research on global trends related to slavery and torture
- Identifying best practices from funded projects
- Supporting data analysis and reporting
Communications
- Drafting social media content, stories, and brochures
- Promoting the work and impact of the humanitarian funds
Events & Coordination
- Assisting in organizing high-level meetings and Board of Trustees events
- Supporting collaboration across UN Human Rights departments
This role combines research, project management, communications, and policy exposure within the UN system.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have at least 2 years of professional experience working on human rights issues related to slavery or torture
- Possess experience in project management
- Demonstrate professional-level proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
