Applications are now open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University for the 2026/2027 academic year. The program will award 13 fully funded Master’s scholarships to academically talented young Africans who face financial or social barriers to graduate education.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree obtained in Africa
- Apply for admission to Makerere University for 2026/2027
- Demonstrate financial need
- Be 35 years or younger
- Not hold or be enrolled in another Master’s program
- Show leadership potential and community involvement
Age limit up to 40 years applies to refugees, internally displaced persons, and persons with disabilities.

Selection Targets
To promote inclusion, the program aims to award:
