Young climate innovators in Italy have an opportunity to travel to Rome, Italy, with travel and accommodation fully covered through the Italian Innovation Challenge 2026.
The initiative is part of Youth4Climate: Connecting Solutions, a global program promoted by the Italian Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The challenge is designed to identify young innovators developing creative solutions to climate change and give them an international platform to showcase their work.
Five selected young innovators will have the opportunity to participate in the Rome leg of the Youth4Climate Study Tour, where they can present their climate initiatives, meet other young changemakers, and connect with representatives from governments, international organizations, universities and businesses.

What Is the Italian Innovation Challenge?
The Italian Innovation Challenge is an opportunity for young people who are developing innovative solutions to climate change.
The challenge forms part of the Youth4Climate: Connecting Solutions initiative, which supports young people working on climate action and provides opportunities for them to connect with international institutions, organizations and other innovators.
For the 2026 edition, five selected participants will be invited to take part in the Rome leg of the Youth4Climate Study Tour.
Participants will have an opportunity to showcase their climate-related projects and gain exposure to an international audience.
Benefits of the Italian Innovation Challenge
Selected participants will receive several forms of support as part of the program.
- Fully Funded Travel and Accommodation: The selected Youth4Climate Italy Innovators 2026 will receive fully covered travel and hotel accommodation for the Rome leg of the event. This means successful applicants can participate in the program without having to personally cover the main travel and accommodation expenses associated with attending the event.
- Showcase Your Climate Project: Participants will receive a dedicated space and session within the international program to present their climate initiatives. This provides an opportunity to explain their ideas, projects and solutions to an international audience.
- International Networking: Selected innovators will be able to connect with representatives from institutions, universities, businesses and international climate organizations. These connections can potentially help young innovators expand their professional networks and discover future collaboration opportunities.
- International Visibility: Participants will receive additional international exposure for their climate-related work and become part of the wider Youth4Climate network.
- No Application Fee: Participation in the challenge is completely free, and applicants do not need to pay an application or entry fee.
