This fully funded international conference will be held at the Yenching Academy of Peking University, Beijing, China.
YGS brings together youth leaders, students, researchers, and emerging professionals from around the world to engage in meaningful dialogue about China’s role in a rapidly changing world. The 2026 edition will welcome 200 exceptional participants, offering them an immersive experience through interdisciplinary discussions, cultural activities, and networking opportunities.

Theme for YGS 2026
The theme for the Yenching Global Symposium 2026 is:
“Harnessing Momentum: The Power to Act in a Changing World”
This theme highlights the role of young leaders in shaping global conversations and driving transformative action in today’s evolving world.
Number of Participants
YGS 2026 will bring together:
- 200 total participants, including
- All members of the 11th cohort of Yenching Scholars, and
- Around 100 external delegates selected through the global application process.

Selected participants will receive full sponsorship, including:

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for YGS 2026, candidates must:
- Be citizens of any country
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential
- Not be required to submit IELTS or TOEFL (English proficiency proof is accepted instead)
- Be born after May 1995
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree, or be in the final year of their undergraduate studies
- Show a strong interest in China and global dialogue
