Applications are now open for the WCSJ2027 Travel Fellowship, a funding opportunity for journalists, media professionals and eligible students who may not otherwise have the financial means to attend the World Conference of Science Journalists 2027 (WCSJ2027) in London, United Kingdom.
The fellowship is designed to expand international participation at the conference, promote diversity within the global science journalism community and provide greater access to professionals and students from countries and organisations with limited funding opportunities.
About the WCSJ2027 Travel Fellowship
The World Conference of Science Journalists 2027 will be held in London, United Kingdom, from 6–9 September 2027.
Selected Travel Fellows will receive financial support toward eligible costs associated with attending the conference. The programme is intended to remove some of the financial barriers that can prevent journalists and emerging professionals from participating in major international events.
What Does the Fellowship Cover?
Successful applicants will receive support for several expenses related to attending WCSJ2027.
The fellowship includes:
- International travel support
- UK visa costs
- Limited local transportation
- Up to six nights of accommodation
- Full conference registration
- Conference refreshments
- Conference lunches
Please note: The fellowship does not include a daily per diem.
In addition to financial support, fellows will have the opportunity to connect with journalists and media professionals from around the world, expand their professional networks and learn about developments in science journalism and communication.
