📣 About the Role: Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Hybrid or Remote (adjusted salary based on location)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000/year (commensurate with experience & location)
Reports to: Senior Director of Marketing and Communications
As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will shape and amplify WCN’s brand and voice across multiple platforms. You’ll drive strategic communications, storytelling, PR, and outreach efforts to grow public engagement and attract philanthropic support.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Engagement
- Design campaigns to boost brand visibility and donor involvement
- Build partnerships and oversee thought leadership initiatives
- Coordinate speaking engagements and support internal speakers
- Represent WCN in collaborative media and advocacy work
Media & Public Relations
- Manage video/multimedia content from concept to distribution
- Act as the main contact for media outlets, journalists, and filmmakers
- Prepare WCN representatives for media appearances and speaking events
- Draft and distribute press releases and track media coverage
- Explore podcast and new media storytelling opportunities
Content Development
- Write compelling content for newsletters, blogs, and reports
- Create talking points, slides, and visual aids for presentations
- Help guest speakers refine their narratives and delivery
- Manage blog content flow with freelancers and volunteers
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
- 5+ years in communications, journalism, PR, or marketing
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling ability
- Strong media outreach and campaign planning skills
- PowerPoint & Google Slides proficiency
- Project management across multiple deadlines
- Familiarity with brand strategy and multimedia storytelling
- Bonus: basic video editing or photography skills
