Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Tokyo Metropolitan University Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
For Master’s Programs
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
For PhD Programs
- Be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program.
Institutional/Professional Affiliation
- Applicants must be from:
- TMU partner institutions,
- Universities in Tokyo’s sister cities, or
- Universities in Asia.
- TMU partner institutions,
Professionals working in research institutes, government agencies, or business organizations in Asia or Tokyo’s sister cities may also be eligible.

- Completed TMU application form.
- Official academic transcripts.
- Proof of language proficiency (English or Japanese, depending on the program).
