This prestigious award is designed for talented students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. The University of Twente will award around 50 scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, giving international students the opportunity to study at one of Europe’s most entrepreneurial and innovative universities.

For students enrolled in a two-year Master’s program, the scholarship may be renewed for the second year if academic requirements are met.
Unlike many scholarships, the UTS provides funds directly to students, allowing flexibility to cover living costs, textbooks, or other study-related expenses (not tuition fees).

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Hold (conditional) admission to an eligible UT Master’s program for 2026/27.
- Possess a student number at the University of Twente.
- Belong to the top 5–10% of their graduating class.
- Meet the English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (with ≥6.0 in speaking) or TOEFL iBT 90 (with ≥20 in speaking).
- Not be a graduate of a previous UT program.
- Be ineligible for Dutch study loans.
- Meet Dutch entry visa requirements (if applicable).
Note: The UTS is not available for pre-master’s programs or for programs at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC).
Eligible Countries
The scholarship is open to students from all non-EU/EEA countries worldwide, including Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa, and many more.

You can only apply once per round. If rejected in Round 1, you cannot apply again in Round 2.
Application Process
- Apply for admission into an eligible UT Master’s program.
- Receive your conditional admission letter and student number.
- Apply separately for the University of Twente Scholarship.
