The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations is inviting young people from around the world to apply for the World Food Forum (WFF) Internship Programme 2026. About the Internship
The WFF Internship is part of FAO’s Office of Youth and Women (OYW), which promotes the involvement of young people and women in FAO’s global initiatives. The programme aims to empower youth to take active roles in shaping sustainable food systems through leadership, innovation, policy engagement, and collaboration.
Launched in 2021, the World Food Forum has become a leading youth-led platform that promotes creative solutions to global food challenges using science, technology, entrepreneurship, and culture.
What Will Interns Do?
Selected interns will support different areas of the World Food Forum, such as:
- Policy research and advocacy
- Communications and digital media
- Event planning and coordination
- Partnership building and fundraising
- Innovation projects and campaigns
- Creative initiatives (art, music, film, and cultural activities)
Interns will work under the guidance of FAO supervisors and contribute to real, impactful projects.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Be between 21 and 30 years old
- Be a citizen of a country that is a member of FAO
- Be enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or postgraduate program from a recognized university (listed in the World Higher Education Database – WHED)
- Have a good command of at least one FAO language: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian
- Demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, strong communication skills, and cultural sensitivity
- Not have immediate family employed by FAO
- Be available to relocate to Rome, Italy for the duration of the internship
An additional FAO language, relevant work/volunteer experience, innovation skills, or event/communication experience is an advantage.
