The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has opened applications for the 2026 cycle of its prestigious Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) Scholarships. Funded by the German government, this fully funded program allows talented professionals from developing and newly industrialized countries to pursue Master’s or, in select cases, Doctoral degrees at state or state-recognized universities in Germany.
The EPOS program aims to strengthen the skills and expertise of future leaders dedicated to sustainable development in their home countries. By providing high-level academic training and international experience, participants are equipped to drive long-term social, economic, and environmental progress.

Note: Each course has its own application deadline. Some countries may require additional certifications.
Scholarship Benefits
- Monthly stipend: ~€934 for Master’s students, €1,200 for Doctoral candidates
- Full or partial tuition coverage (where applicable)
- Health, accident, and personal liability insurance
- Travel allowance (if not covered by other sources)
- Possible additional support for rent and family members (conditions apply)
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree (usually 4 years) in a relevant field
- Above-average academic performance (top third of class)
- Minimum two years of professional experience in development-oriented roles
- Employment in a public institution, government agency, or private organization contributing to development
- Last academic degree obtained within the past six years
- Not resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application
- Language proficiency in English (IELTS/TOEFL) or German, depending on the program
