Applications are now open for the Romania ARICE Scholarship 2026/27, a fully funded international scholarship programme offered by the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
This opportunity provides international students with the chance to study in Romania at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels in accredited public universities. Each year, approximately 40 scholarships are awarded to outstanding candidates from around the world.
The programme also includes a free Romanian language preparation year, allowing students to adapt academically and culturally before starting their degree.

Scholarship Duration
The duration of study depends on the programme level:
- Bachelor’s degree: 3–6 years
- Master’s degree: 1.5–2 years
- Postgraduate/Residency programmes: 3–6 years
- PhD (Doctoral studies): 3–5 years
⚠️ Note: Programs in dentistry, stomatology, and pharmacy are not included in this scholarship scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ARICE Scholarship:
- Applicants must be non-EU and non-EFTA citizens
- Applicants must not hold Romanian citizenship
- Applicants must not already have refugee status or long-term residence in Romania
- Priority is given to candidates from non-EU developing countries
- All academic levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) are eligible depending on qualifications

- Completed application forms
- Academic certificates and transcripts
- Letter of recommendation
- CV (Curriculum Vitae)
- Copy of passport or national ID
- Birth certificate
- Medical certificate
- Declaration of non-benefit (Annex 3)
- Recent passport photographs
Selection Process
Final selection is carried out by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research.
