Applications are now open for the National Workshops for YouthDecide 2040, a flagship European Union initiative designed to rethink and reimagine the future of European democracy. Through this program, young people across EU Member States and candidate countries will collaborate to explore innovative democratic ideas, creative problem-solving, and new approaches to civic participation.
As part of the YouthDecide 2040 vision, a series of national-level workshops will be hosted across the region, giving motivated young individuals a chance to shape what democracy in Europe could look like in the decades ahead. Each workshop invites around 30 participants to co-create democratic futures at the local, national, and European levels. Selected participants will receive full funding, including travel and accommodation.
The workshops are highly interactive—combining dialogue, group discussions, creative exercises, and reflective sessions—ensuring every participant’s voice is valued. This initiative will engage 700 young people across 20 workshops in 19 European cities, forming a vibrant network of forward-thinking youth committed to strengthening democratic life.
No prior experience is required. The program simply seeks individuals who are curious, open-minded, and passionate about imagining new forms of civic engagement.
Young people interested in contributing to the future of democracy in Europe can apply by selecting their country of residence.
