This prestigious fellowship enables successful applicants to study at leading Irish higher education institutions, with all major expenses covered. It promotes leadership, skill development, and global partnership—aligned with Ireland’s foreign policy and international development priorities.
What the Fellowship Covers
The Ireland Fellows Programme is fully funded and includes:
- Full tuition and program fees
- Round-trip international airfare
- Accommodation and living expenses
- Support during the 10–16 month academic programme
Programme Objectives
The programme aims to:
- Build capacity for development in Ghana and Nigeria
- Develop future leaders and change-makers
- Strengthen diplomatic and educational ties between Ireland and partner countries

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be a citizen and resident of Ghana or Nigeria
- Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Select three eligible master’s programmes from the official directory
- Meet the academic qualifications and English language requirements outlined in the guidelines
- Demonstrate a commitment to contributing to development in your country after graduation
Preference is given to applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, including women, persons with disabilities, and individuals from marginalized communities.
