Are you a passionate young climate activist in Europe? Here’s your chance to level up your impact! Applications are now open for the Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) Study Session 2025, a fully funded program for environmental changemakers, taking place from 1st to 5th September 2025 at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France.
This prestigious session brings together young environmental defenders aged 18–30 from across Council of Europe member states. The goal? To empower youth climate activists who are actively engaged in grassroots movements and committed to environmental and climate justice.
What’s This Study Session About?
In the face of increasing repression — from criminalised protests to legal intimidation and police harassment — youth climate defenders are under threat. This program aims to tackle those challenges by equipping participants with human rights-based tools, legal protection strategies, and a pan-European support network.
Through engaging workshops, expert-led sessions, and interactive dialogues, participants will:
- Understand threats to democratic participation for environmental defenders.
- Gain tools to defend their rights while continuing their activism.
- Build solidarity across Europe’s youth environmental movements.
- Connect with policymakers, institutions, and like-minded changemakers.
- Explore how the rule of law can be leveraged to protect climate activism.
