Fully Funded Trip to Iceland 2026 for Indigenous Youth

Applications are now open for the Arctic Indigenous Youth All-Access Journey to the Arctic Circle Assembly 2026 in Iceland. This fully funded international opportunity is designed for Indigenous young leaders who are passionate about Arctic affairs, Indigenous rights, sustainability, climate action, and regional cooperation.

The program is organized by Arctic Circle in partnership with the Government of Canada and the Global Arctic Leadership Initiative (GALI). Successful applicants will travel to Reykjavík, Iceland, to participate in one of the world’s most influential gatherings focused on Arctic issues.

The Arctic Circle Assembly 2026 will take place from October 8–10, 2026, bringing together policymakers, Indigenous representatives, researchers, business leaders, and civil society organizations from around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

Be between 18 and 30 years old
Reside in a North American or Nordic Arctic country
Demonstrate a strong interest in Arctic issues and Indigenous Peoples’ affairs
Have good English communication skills
Be available to attend the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavík from October 8–10, 2026
Participate in required virtual preparation sessions and follow-up activities
Be willing to share their experiences through interviews, articles, testimonials, or social media content
