Applications are now open for the Future Leaders Program 2026 in Hungary, organized by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA). This fully funded international leadership initiative will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from 1 September to 30 November 2026.
The three-month program is designed for young professionals and recent graduates who are passionate about international relations, diplomacy, foreign policy, and global affairs. Participants from all countries are welcome to apply and will have the opportunity to work closely with experts, conduct policy research, and gain valuable insights into Hungary’s foreign policy landscape.
The program covers major expenses, including airfare and accommodation, making it an excellent opportunity for emerging leaders seeking international exposure. Additionally, applicants are not required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores, and there is no application fee.

About the Future Leaders Program
The HIIA Future Leaders Program aims to develop the next generation of foreign policy experts by providing hands-on experience in international affairs and policy research.
Participants will:
- Explore Hungarian foreign policy and international relations in depth
- Conduct independent research under the guidance of experienced mentors
- Contribute to HIIA’s strategic policy initiatives
- Participate in specialized training sessions on leadership, diplomacy, media engagement, and public speaking

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Future Leaders Program 2026, applicants must:
- Be citizens of any country
- Be under 30 years of age
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate a strong interest in foreign policy and international affairs
Preferred academic backgrounds include:
- International Relations
- Political Science
- International Economics
- History
- Philosophy
Applicants from related disciplines may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
