Applications are now open for the Ocean Leaders Fellowship (OLF) 2026, a prestigious fully funded international fellowship hosted in Kenya. This program is open to applicants from all countries and is designed to develop the next generation of global leaders in ocean conservation and environmental policy.
The Ocean Leaders Fellowship runs for 8 months, combining virtual engagement with a fully funded 12-day international leadership institute in Kenya, scheduled from June 9 to June 19, 2026. There is no application fee, and all major expenses are fully covered.
For the 2026 cohort, the fellowship is focused exclusively on the global 30×30 initiative, a worldwide campaign aiming to protect 30% of the planet’s land and oceans by 2030. Selected fellows will work on accelerating the national implementation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and advancing biodiversity conservation targets.
A total of 40 fellows will be selected to participate in this immersive, in-person leadership experience.
