Are you ready to spend your summer doing research at some of Germany’s top universities and institutes? Applications are now open for the RISE Summer Internship 2026 in Germany, one of the best fully funded internship opportunities in Europe for international students.
The RISE Program (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) is an initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Every year, it offers more than 300 fully funded scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from around the world who want to gain hands-on research experience in Germany.
The internship lasts for about three months — with a minimum stay of 10 weeks and a maximum of 90 days — giving students the opportunity to work directly with research groups, professors, and scientists in their field of study.

Internship Fields
Students can apply for internships in the following fields: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or related disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RISE Summer Internship 2026, applicants must:
- Be undergraduate students with at least two years of completed studies
- Be enrolled in biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth sciences, or engineering
- Be studying at a university in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., or Ireland
- (For German citizens) Have lived outside Germany for at least six years
- No IELTS or German language test required
