Applications are set to open on May 11, 2026, for the Romanian Government ARICE Scholarship 2026/27. The scholarship is a fully funded opportunity offered by the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (ARICE) for international students who wish to study in Romania.
A total of 40 scholarships will be awarded to foreign citizens for the 2026–2027 academic session. The scholarship supports students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, and selected postgraduate residency programs in Romania.

Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is open to foreign citizens from non-EU and non-EFTA countries. Priority is usually given to applicants from countries that do not already have educational cooperation agreements with Romania.
Who Is Not Eligible?
The following individuals cannot apply:
- Romanian citizens
- Individuals benefiting from other Romanian scholarship programs
- Persons under protection in Romania
- Long-term residents in Romania
- Members of diplomatic or consular staff in Romania
- Applicants who already received a Romanian Government scholarship for the same study level
Language of Study
All courses under this scholarship will be taught in the Romanian language as part of Romania’s effort to promote Romanian culture and language internationally.
Applicants who do not speak Romanian will first undergo a free preparatory year to study the language before beginning their academic program.
Candidates who already know Romanian must either:
- Pass a Romanian language test, or
- Submit proof of previous Romanian-language education, or
- Provide a Romanian language certificate with at least B1 level proficiency

- Scholarship application forms
- Letter of recommendation
- Academic certificates and transcripts
- Passport copy
- Birth certificate
- Identity card copy (if applicable)
- Medical certificate
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Two recent passport photographs
- Declaration confirming no previous Romanian Government scholarship at the same study level
All documents not originally in Romanian, English, or French must be translated accordingly.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the ARICE selection committee. Successful candidates will be selected based on the documents submitted.
The final decision will be made by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, and results are expected to be announced no later than September 15, 2026.
