Internship Responsibilities
The selected intern will support communications, media, and stakeholder engagement efforts across three key areas:
1. Media Relations & Monitoring (20%)
- Build and update the Swiss/French media database, focusing on Swiss-German outlets.
- Compile a weekly media digest tracking development news and UNDP mentions.
- Support bi-weekly press briefings and prepare background research notes.
2. Digital Communications & Audiovisual (40%)
- Develop engaging multimedia content for UNDP Geneva’s social media (especially X/Twitter).
- Write and publish web stories showcasing donor contributions and project impacts.
- Regularly update the UNDP Geneva website for local and global audiences.
3. Engagement with Swiss Parliamentarians (40%)
- Research and profile key Swiss parliamentarians to identify partnership opportunities.
- Draft concept notes, strategic briefs, and targeted communications.
- Provide on-site support during sessions in Bern, including exhibitions and briefings.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UNDP Geneva Internship, applicants must:
- Hold (or be completing) a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Have experience in communications, content creation, or media relations.
- Be familiar with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and data analytics.
