Applications are now open for the 24th ASEF Seminar on Human Rights (ASEMHRS24), taking place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 12–16 October 2026. Organized by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), this fully funded international seminar will bring together young leaders, academics, policymakers, civil society representatives, and human rights practitioners from Asia and Europe.
The 2026 edition is themed “The Future of Human Rights: From Local to Global,” focusing on how local initiatives can strengthen human rights protection at regional and global levels. Participants will engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions to today’s most pressing human rights challenges.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an ASEM Partner country
- Have experience or a demonstrated interest in human rights
- Be actively engaged in civil society, academia, research institutions, government agencies, international organizations, or related fields
- Be proficient in English
- Be available to attend the entire program in Mongolia
- Have an interest in Asia-Europe cooperation and dialogue
Eligible Countries
The seminar is open to applicants from ASEM Partner countries across Asia and Europe.
Professionals and students from civil society organizations, universities, research institutions, government institutions, and international organizations are encouraged to apply.
