Applications are now open for the Local Conference of Youth and Children on Climate Change (LCOY) Uganda 2026, a youth-led national climate conference supported by YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The conference will be held from 5–7 August 2026 at the UNICEF Offices in Kampala and UNIPOD, Makerere University.
About LCOY Uganda 2026
The 2026 conference is themed “Children and Youth-Led Climate Action and Innovations for Resilience and Development.”
The event will bring together young leaders, students, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, civil society organizations, and other climate stakeholders to discuss climate action, share innovative solutions, and strengthen collaboration.
Participants will also help shape Uganda’s youth perspectives for national and international climate discussions.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be interested in climate action, environmental sustainability, or sustainable development
- Be a young leader, student, child, researcher, entrepreneur, innovator, activist, or climate stakeholder
- Be available to attend the conference from 5–7 August 2026 in Kampala
- Complete the official application before the deadline
Applicants who wish to organize a side event must submit an additional proposal through the application form.
