Applications are now open for the NextGen BHR Youth Innovation Hackathon 2025! This dynamic competition will bring together top university students from Thailand, ASEAN, and beyond to solve real-world challenges at the intersection of business and human rights.
The hackathon is hosted during the UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok, and will run from 16–17 September 2025.
About the Hackathon
The Youth Innovation Hackathon provides a unique opportunity for students to apply their knowledge, collaborate across cultures, and propose innovative solutions to pressing global issues.
Key Focus Areas:
- Labour Rights & Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
- Environment & Climate Justice
- Technology & Human Rights
- Supply Chain Transparency & Responsible Production
- Indigenous Peoples’ Rights & Community Impact
How It Works
- Students can apply individually or as a team of 3–5 members. Organizers will ensure diverse group formation.
- Over two days, teams will work intensively on complex case studies and “wicked problems.”
- Final solutions will be pitched to a high-level jury of UN experts, academics, and industry leaders.
Important Notes
- Participation is self-funded (students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation).
- Limited travel support is available for selected universities.
