The Center for Tropical Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), in collaboration with the WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR), invites applications for the 2025 Implementation Research (IR) MOOC. This free, self-paced online course is designed to equip health professionals, researchers, and policymakers in South-East Asia with the tools to translate research into effective real-world solutions.
Why Implementation Research Matters
Implementation Research (IR) helps bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public health practice. It identifies barriers that prevent proven interventions from reaching communities—particularly in low- and middle-income countries—and develops strategies to make health programs more effective and scalable.
The TDR MOOC on Implementation Research is a unique opportunity for participants to build both individual and institutional capacity in this field, ultimately improving health outcomes and advancing health equity.

By joining the MOOC, participants will:
- Learn the core concepts and relevance of IR
- Gain practical skills to design, conduct, and analyze IR studies
- Apply IR tools to strengthen health systems and policies
- Enhance the delivery and uptake of health interventions in local contexts
